The two worse teams both of the East and the whole league are clashing today, when the Cleveland Cavaliers (9-38), who have been terrible having won only once in their last sixteen games, are hosting the Chicago Bulls (10-36), who have won once in their last twelve and both teams are looking to bounce back.
Date/Time: 01-21-2019, 13:00 EDT
Spread: Cleveland Cavaliers +2
Cleveland Cavaliers have a 9-38 record (20-26-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the last place of the whole NBA. They have lost 15 of their last 16 games and in their last game they lost on the road against the Nuggets with a 102-124 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Kevin Love with 19 ppg, adding 3.5 dimes and a team high 13.5 boards per game but he is out with an injury. He is followed by Jordan Clarkson with 16.9 ppg and 3.2 boards off the bench, while Collin Sexton adds 14.5 ppg.
Chicago Bulls have a 10-36 record (20-25-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the second to last place of the East. They have lost 11 of their last 12 matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Heat with a 103-117 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Zach LaVine with 22.8 ppg, adding 4.3 boards and 4.3 dimes per game. He is followed by Lauri Markkanen with 17.1 ppg and 7.1 boards per game.
Bulls have won both previous meetings against the Cavaliers earlier this season (at home by one point and on the road by 20). Cavaliers have a 5-17 home record, while the Bulls are 5-18 on the road. Cavaliers are better both offensively, scoring 102.8 ppg to Bulls’ 101 ppg and defensively, allowing 111.6 ppg to Bulls’ 113.9. Both teams have almost identical field goal percentage (44.4% to 44.3%), while Cavs have a better 3-point percentage (35.5% to 34.8%). Cavs are also better in boards grabbed (41.9 to 41.5) and in turnovers committed (12.7 to 14.3), while Bulls are better in dimes made (21.6 to 20.1). Cavaliers have been terrible this season and Vegas odds give the Bulls a -2 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the road win.
Chicago Bulls vs Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction: Chicago Bulls -2 (-109)
